LECTORS (LAY READERS) are assigned to read the Old and New Testament readings and a Psalm for Sunday worship. The laity also reads the Prayers of the People.

USHERS are very important to our worship. They welcome visitors, hand out church bulletins, seat people, take up the offerings, and direct the people to the railing for Holy Communion.

Eucharistic Ministers & Acolytes

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS are lay assistants who help distribute the wine which we believe is the Blood of Christ. You must be an active member of an Episcopal church, received training from your parish and authorized by both your rector and the bishop of your diocese. It is an honored position and we maintain reverence for the True Body and

ACOLYTES are those who light and extinguish candles, and participate in the the opening processional, gospel procession, and the recessional. Sometimes they are called upon to hold the lavabo for priests to wash their hands before the Liturgy of the Eucharist. They may also carry the Cross during processionals and would be known as the crucifer.

MEMORIAL GARDENS

The Memorial Gardens, adjacent to St. Peter's Church gives those who seek interment for their loved one's cremains in a beautiful hilltop garden setting overseen by the Presence of God. Jean Husby oversees the gardens and their maintenance. The Memorial Gardens is the only church owned cemetery in southern Maine and continues to remain a viable and attractive alternative to proprietary cemeteries in the area. RECEIVE A COFFEE MUG & KIDS BAG!

Visitors receive a coffee mug featuring St. Peter's by the Sea. During services, children receive a kids bag which includes a Jesus story coloring book, puzzle, and more, to learn about the Bible.

FELLOWSHIP HOUR

FELLOWSHIP HOUR FOLLOWS THE 10 A.M. MASS AT THE OCEAN FRONT RECTORY. Parishioners enjoying food and drink in one of the beautiful rooms at the rectory. We average 78 visitors each Sunday.
