The Memorial Garden at St. Peter's by the Sea Episcopal is consecrated ground. It is the only one of its kind in coastal southern Maine. This sacred ground remains a viable and attractive alternative to proprietary cemeteries in the area.
The grounds are always under the professional and loving care by local gardener Jean Husby. A continued planting program to add new flowering plants each year has created a very serene and fragrant garden on the hill adjoining the Church of St. Peter's.
Many walk through the Memorial Garden and enjoy the peacefulness while others prefer to sit on one of the benches to meditate or pray before and after worship. A monument displays the names of those who are interred here. The Celtic cross is a reminder of who we are and whom we keep our strength in highlighting the Garden.
